"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense" -Alice from Alice in Wonderland

Found in Vizz: Outrageous Visual Communication.   What attracted me to this is the fact this is a catalog for a vintage t-shirt company. I love the fact it's not your average cookie cutter white space in the back product in the front, but still manages to draw your attention to the product in most cases. I have always been a fan of the weird surreal look and this definitely has that element to it.  It almost wants me to get a t-shirt from this company.

A Special Letter

Found in Graphis Annual 2011. What attracted me to this piece if the unusual placing of the advertisement. A giant letter on a door is one way to definitely gain attention to whatever you're trying to promote. It also shows that the School of Visual arts is promoting is creative in coming up with the idea. I want to reach out and open the letter to see what is inside of it.

"I want my food dead. Not sick, not dying, dead." -Oscar Wilde

Found in Japanese Graphics Now! by Taschen.  This was a campaign for fresh fish such as sardines and octopus and what attracted me to it was the fact it has live sardine and octopus going into the mouth of these people. In the bottom part of the poster it has bubbles forming the message of fresh sardine and octopus. I enjoyed the use of photography and using a collage to make it seem almost like the person with the sardines is made out of sardines.  The contrast is very catching and was definitely something that caught my eye and made me want to find out what the poster was about.

Perfection at it's Worst

I found this particular design in Extreme Designs. I absolutely loved how disturbing the image was to get across the way parents are pushing their children to be so perfect that they destroy their innocence. What really drew me to it was how different it is from the typical clean style I see all the time. This shows the chaotic nature of people striving for each generation to be more perfect with how the chalkboard writing is al around the child and part of a twenty dollar bill is stamped onto the child's mouth. It helps to bring awareness to the problem, though the next step is how to make people stop robbing children of their innocence.
